Back To The Roots

Upper Blackwater Jared, Graham, and I arrived back east just in time to paddle some of the classic runs we learned to kayak on. We ended up runing the Upper Blackwater, Upper Yough, Top Yough, and Big Sandy all at good flows and some of the warmest days I’ve ever paddled these runs. Another bonus, …

US Wildwater Nationals

I took the Speeder to US Wildwater Nationals on the Deerfiled River over the weekend.  It was different kind of competition for me.  I had a great time, and took down the rest of the plastic boats with the help of my good friend the Speeder.

Speed Trip to BC

On my first trip to BC I learned one thing.  10 days is not enough.  There are more rivers in BC than I could possibly paddle in a lifetime.  I had a great crew of people to paddle with, great water, and a ton of fun.

The Speeder Wins Again

This weekend was the Deerfield River Festival.  They tried a new event this year.  It was well organized by Zoar Outdoor Center’s Fergus Coffey.  The competition was a mass start down the Deerfield River, a run up the steep take-out hill, and a 8 mile bike ride.  The course was short, I figured it would …
