Biography

I’ve grown up in the Pacific Northwest most of my life and never feel more at home than when I'm in the mountains or near the water. Whitewater is my passion and I have spent the past 41/2 years chasing rivers and adventure while balancing school and work. In June, I graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. What's next? Well my newest adventure in entrepeneurship with my very own company, SHE GOES MEDIA, combining my love for creative media and outdoor adventure...and also providing a schedule where I can kayak as much as possible! Through this blog I hope to document the highlights of my adventures while amplifying my irrevocable passion to live fully and mindfully each and everyday. I hope to inspire others to follow their hearts, do what they love, and actively live their dreams! #shegoes -AL

I can hear the water pick up as it forces its way naturally through the boulders evaporating into the air as it crests over the surface. I can feel the warmth of the sunshine on my face as I take a ‘Leap of Faith.’ This is a trip I’ll never forget.

Tumwater STOKE!

Just another day on my backyard run, Tumwater Canyon! For me it’s not conquering new goals but the steps I take to push me towards the things I thought were once out of reach. It’s in this forward momentum I can see and be inspired by the world opening up in all directions around me …

All You Need Is Ecuador

On Christmas day I flew to Ecuador to spend 3 weeks doing what I love most; white water kayaking! Fall had been incredibly busy, and I wasn’t sure I would be able to make a paddling trip happen this winter. Last year, I had my first international kayaking experience in Ecuador and it changed my …

Like A Lady

For many of us kayaking is a way of life, an art form, a passion, it represents determination, empowerment, and the very best of everything we are. This summer I set out to Idaho and Colorado to chase my passion for white water and new experiences, to explore what I’m capable of and what makes …
