Here are some pictures from the team at the first event of the first ever World Cup of freestyle kayaking, held at Garberator on the Ottawa river.
Despite paddling injured, Jared Seiler threw some big moves for the crowd and finished 42nd
In the C-1 class, I took 6th place, missing the finals by one place. Considering that last year at the Ottawa rodeo, I missed the wave all three times in C-1, I’m pretty stoked with my finish.

Some people reckon that the West coast of North America is the best kayaking road trip you can do, but for me the best bang for your buck is the European tour- starting in Corsica, working up through Slovenia, Italy and France to the mecca of Norway.Â
My season began in Corsica in April, through to Slovenia and France in May and June before arriving in Norway in July. Happy days!
Norway is definately one of the most incredible countries on earth, awesome whitewater in a wilderness environment. This year we didn’t make it up to the Arctic circle, but we saw some beautiful places all the same.

Hey Guys, The world cup series starts tomorrow here on the Ottawa River. There are competitors from all over the world! Water levels have been ideal for the Garberator wave.
People have been paddling 24/7 with lights set up on the Garb wave. Garb is a great place to showcase the new arial and combo moves. Canadian team trials were held on Tuesday with some of the best paddling ever seen in competition. Should be a great weekend. Stay tuned for updates.

Summer of work work work, busy learning how to mend people. Loads of fun but can’t wait now to get out on the river. Have been doing rather too much of this…
Now off to Norway to catch the last part of the season and do some of this…
Then slog it out at the beer festival in Munich and look like this…!

Ive just got back from a fantastic trip to British Columbia with the boys from Fat Cats Productions. What a adventure, amazing water, scetchy information, cashed cars and the odd angry local. Off to help out with the National youth Series here in the UK this weekend as I’m not confident in Jamie’s water. We’ll see.

Having enjoyed my river boating so much up in Scotland for the LiquidLife event, I am planning much more for the next few months. Off to Wales this weekend with the promise of rain so hopefully I will get to give my C1 Burn another outing and have a play in my 4 Twenty in preparation for the British Freestyle Team selection event in October.
