The Pyranha crew was invited to the new US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC for a day of checking out the new whitewater park, demoing some boats, and doing a little bit of racing. The course has three channels- a beginner channel, a freestyle channel, and a competition channel for racing, and a conveyor belt to get back to the top. While “concrete kayaking” has been going on in Europe, it’s something relatively new in the US, and the smooth channel and fast water and the idea of just riding the conveyor back to the top took a bit of getting used to. We all agreed that the course is awesome, and will only get better with some tweaking. Here are some pictures:

WOW! What a year so far!
Hey everyone just thought i’d share the exciting times I’ve had in 2006 so far. I started the year off right by moving out of cold snowy jackson, wyoming and to the slightly warmer yet RAINY Hood River oregon. In Hood river we had over 30 days of straight rain at one point and got on lots of good whitewater. Throughout the rest of the spring I was lappin up the little white sometimes three times a day!!!
I spent much of March and April exploring this awesome Island off the B.C. coast called Vancouver Island! the canyons were dark and deep and the drops were amazing!

The Endless BC Summer!
There is nothing that gets me more fired up about kayaking than being fox holed into some remote gorge and knowing that I’m one of a select few that gets the pleasure to take on the scenery and spirit of these deep cracks in the Earth. Second to that is reading stories and seeing pictures of other boaters across the world doing the exact same thing. When I scoll through this site, it is obvious that there have been many epic missions this summer. All of us united by the stoke of kayaking and the lifestyle that goes along with it. Excellent work team…it has been an amazing season. And an extra huge shout out to Pyranha this year for producing the Burn and 420! With a record snowpack coming into the summer and an absurd amount of bluebird days, we had one of the best seasons I can remember in BC. Here are a few shots from some of the summer 06 missions!

Sweet September in the Southeast!
It has been a busy month out here. Finishing up the World Cup, Gauley Fest, and a little Green in between. Jeremy and I decided to finish the remainder of the month after the Black Rodeo-with a Team road trip. We picked up new Team member Dave Fusilli and the three of us headed south to Asheville.

Some Pics from the Mighty Nene
Here’s a few of pics from the Peak UK White Water Challenge at the Nene White Water Centre last weekend. The course is a small artificial course with the main play feature being good for pretty much any hole move going. People were hitting Phonix Monkeys, McNasties and all sorts with us C1 boys schooling the kayakers scores in the heats by over 200 points!!
