A Cold Day on the Little White and some NEW WOOD!

I’ve recently moved back to White Salmon, Washington for the winter. Fortunately the water is high right now, unfortunately the weather is cold and snowy.
Wishbone Falls

Yesterday I did a run on the Little White Salmon. I was treated to get flows just below 4 feet, and lots of Ice and some new wood. The day all in all was really fun, the water wasn’t as cold as expected and the scenery was awesome with huge Icecicles hanging in certain places. As for the new wood. There is alot of new wood in random places but three major spots to watch for.1/4 of the way down Gettin Busy is a river-wide log that will sneak up on the un-weary paddler, portage necessary. In Island drop proper, a river-wide log jam has formed. The drop is runnable through the river-right channel which is dry at normal flows. This will make for a mandatory portage at flows below 3’7″. Also above Sacriledge are two logs that are avoidable on the left one is obvious and easy to avoid the other is submerged slightly and not as easy to avoid.
Stay warm and stay safe
