Despatch Manager
We are looking for a confident, decisive, and highly organised individual to lead our despatch team, coordinating the distribution of our market-leading canoes and kayaks across the UK, Europe, and beyond.
This is a fast-paced role requiring someone who can manage competing demands, make clear decisions under pressure, and take ownership of delivery outcomes. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting priorities, communicating them effectively, and ensuring they are followed through—maintaining operational efficiency even when plans are challenged.
Salary: £28.5k to £32k pa, depending on experience.
Hours: Full-Time, 40 hours per week.
Location: Runcorn, England - with travel as relevant to the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the despatch team, ensuring appropriate staffing levels to meet delivery and collection schedules, including coordination of part-time staff and cross-departmental support where required.
- Plan, prioritise, and oversee daily despatch operations, balancing multiple and often conflicting demands to ensure deadlines and commitments are consistently met.
- Act as the central point of coordination between internal teams, ensuring clarity on priorities and maintaining focus on agreed plans.
- Liaise with carriers to obtain accurate and timely quotations, negotiate where appropriate, and book collections.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant transport and safety regulations, including driver hours, tachograph use, and vehicle checks.
- Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, cost control, and service levels within the despatch operation.
- Resolve operational challenges proactively, maintaining momentum and delivery standards in a dynamic working environment.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong decision-making capability, with the confidence to set direction and maintain it when faced with competing internal demands.
- Clear and assertive communication skills, with the ability to manage expectations across teams and stakeholders.
- High level of proficiency with data management tools, including Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, solutions-focused mindset.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- FLT Licence
- C1+E Driving Licence
- Experience within the haulage or logistics industry
- Knowledge and practical experience of tachograph use and compliance
- Experience managing small teams in an operational or logistics environment

North Wales Shop Manager
We need an individual who is comfortable and confident in handling enquiries and offering advice whether it be face-to-face, via telephone, by email, or through any of Go Kayaking’s other online channels. The ideal candidate would have a strong baseline knowledge across a range of paddlesports and be pro-active and reliable, with a commitment to delivering exceptional customer service.
Hours: The role is a full-time position; a total of 40 working hours split across 5 days a week, including weekends. The rota will be set 1 month in advance.
Location: The role will primarily be based at our Llangollen store, with occasional days at events or our store in Runcorn.
Responsibilities:
- Offering a high level of service and advice in response to customer enquiries submitted via Email, Phone, Social Media, and Live Chat.
- Providing an excellent in-store experience for customers, including maintaining product displays, and offering product walkthroughs and demos.
- Ensuring all demo craft and equipment are well serviced and bookings are managed accurately.
- Processing and managing orders, including advising on stock availability/lead times and picking/packing/despatching web and phone orders.
- Stock management, including booking in deliveries, organising the stock room, and regularly making transfers between stores.
Essential:
- Experience across a range of paddlesports disciplines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficient in the use of computers and systems.
- Self-motivated organisation.
- Full, Clean UK Driving Licence

Salary: £26.5k to £30k pa, depending on experience.

All relevant training will be provided including product training, customer service training, and POS system training.
