{"id":955,"date":"2007-04-06T12:58:20","date_gmt":"2007-04-06T11:58:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/paddler-lifestyle-articles\/david-fairweather\/a-nepalese-warm-up\/"},"modified":"2007-04-06T12:58:20","modified_gmt":"2007-04-06T11:58:20","slug":"a-nepalese-warm-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/a-nepalese-warm-up\/","title":{"rendered":"A Nepalese warm up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p align=\"left\">Greetings from Kathmandu.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/upperbothekhosi1.JPG\" alt=\"Upper Bothe Khosi\" \/>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">Hard\u00c2\u00a0lines\u00c2\u00a0in the\u00c2\u00a0gorges of\u00c2\u00a0the Upper Bothe Khosi\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Three of us (myself, Giles Brunning and Chris Smith) arrived in Nepal five days ago for three weeks of quality Nepalese whitewater.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0Our primary intention\u00c2\u00a0is a descent of the Thule Behri river in the West of the country, a river that is seldom paddled despite a reputation for being on of the best hard multi-day rivers in the country.\u00c2\u00a0 So far we have hooked up with\u00c2\u00a0Andreas, a\u00c2\u00a0german boater with all the local knowledge that we need, and we&#8217;ve been warming up on the Bothe Khosi, Upper Bothe Khosi and the Thamba Khosi.<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\">\u00c2\u00a0 <img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/froginablender.JPG\" alt=\"Bothe Khosi\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Chris\u00c2\u00a0on the Bothe Khosi<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The Burns have been looking after us, even when I decided to take mine for an extended side-surf session in a sticky hole on the Upper Bothe Khosi gorges.\u00c2\u00a0 We are all feeling suitably warmed up and excited about heading west to the Thule Bheri, tomorrow we have a long drive and\u00c2\u00a0a short flight followed by five days on the river.\u00c2\u00a0 Enjoy the pictures from our warm up and stay tuned for futher updates on our progress&#8230;<\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/rikshaw.JPG\" alt=\"Transport in Thamel\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>Kayak transport in Thamel<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2007\/04\/smallchild.JPG\" alt=\"Small child, large Burn\" \/><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\"><em>&#8220;Mummy, can I have one of these for christmas?&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p align=\"left\"><em>Photos by David Fairweather &amp;
