{"id":8903,"date":"2011-10-11T02:14:32","date_gmt":"2011-10-11T01:14:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/?p=8903"},"modified":"2011-10-11T02:14:32","modified_gmt":"2011-10-11T01:14:32","slug":"gear-fest-the-midwest-outdoor-experience","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/gear-fest-the-midwest-outdoor-experience\/","title":{"rendered":"Gear Fest the Midwest Outdoor Experience"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last weekend myself, Nicole Mansfield, Craig Kleckner and Todd Baker loaded up Orange Bitch ( Pyranha van) from my home in Clarion PA, and headed west to Dayton Ohio.\u00c2\u00a0 demshitz arrived Friday afternoon to setup for the event.\u00c2\u00a0 For a few hours on Friday and most of the day Saturday we entertained and informed the crowd on Pyranha kayaks, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kayakdayton.com\/\">Whitewater Warehouse <\/a>(local dealer), and what exactly a freestyle kayak was made to do.\u00c2\u00a0 I think demshitz actually opened a lot of eyes as to what is possible in a whitewater kayak.\u00c2\u00a0 I did do a lot of talking and explaining as to what our kickass sport is all about!\u00c2\u00a0 Dayton locals may be seeing more and more whitewater kayaks because\u00c2\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.metroparks.org\/\"> Five Rivers MetroParks<\/a> is moving ahead with plans to develop a whitewater park near downtown Dayton.\u00c2\u00a0 As for the rest of Gear Fest we where entertained by bands playing all day, food and gear vendors and the slackline US National Championships.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"P1012666\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012666.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-8905 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012666.JPG\" alt=\"P1012666\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Craig Kleckner, like Shamu at Sea World<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><a title=\"P1012660\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012660.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-8906 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012660.JPG\" alt=\"P1012660\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The demshitz dunk tank<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"P1012656\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012656.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-8907 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/10\/P1012656.JPG\" alt=\"P1012656\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Myself trying to motivate Craig to get in the pool on a not so warm day.
