{"id":6422,"date":"2010-11-19T15:26:35","date_gmt":"2010-11-19T15:26:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/?p=6422"},"modified":"2021-12-20T12:41:06","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T11:41:06","slug":"quick-chile-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/quick-chile-update\/","title":{"rendered":"Quick Chile Update"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a title=\"DSCF3081\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3081.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6423 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3081.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3081\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been raining hard for the last 12 hours.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s coming in sideways and it&#8217;s cold.\u00c2\u00a0 So, unlike the past 2 weeks of go go GO&#8230;we&#8217;re sitting around drinking yerba matte, eating bananas, letting our bodies recuperate, and catching up with the world.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0 Here&#8217;s a quick photo re-cap of our Chile experiences thus far.\u00c2\u00a0 Fred&#8217;s busy making edits.\u00c2\u00a0 So, the goods are yet to come.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Demshitz love Chile.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s a well known fact.\u00c2\u00a0 After 2 years of hanging out with Demshitz and hearing constant Chile praises, I never thought my experiences would actually surpass my expectations.\u00c2\u00a0 But, they have.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3018\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3018.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6424 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3018.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3018\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here Dave and Fred sit, reluctantly ready to spend 10 hours in the Santiago bus station waiting for the last leg of our journey; the 10 hour bus ride to Pucon.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3028\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3028.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6425 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3028.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3028\" width=\"405\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Somehow Ian managed to convince Fred and Dave to run the Turbio River less than an hour after picking us up from the red-eye bus trip.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3035\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3035.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6426 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3035.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3035\" width=\"405\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3046\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3046.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6427 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3046.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3046\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Day 2 in Chile we headed down the Maichin with one of Rodrigo&#8217;s kayak trips.\u00c2\u00a0 If you&#8217;re coming to Pucon and need info, gear, guide, etc he&#8217;s your man.\u00c2\u00a0 Check out <a href=\"http:\/\/www.kayakpucon.net\/english\/index.htm\">Kayak Pucon<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3050\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3050.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6428 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3050.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3050\" width=\"405\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With incredible gorges and big fun drops, the Maichin River was the perfect introduction to kayaking in Chile!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3076\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3076.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6429 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3076.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3076\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Fred&#8217;s kayak with all his camping gear was lost.\u00c2\u00a0 Delta had no idea where it went.\u00c2\u00a0 So, after finding Fred some basic essentials we packed up the truck, picked up Jake Greenbaum, and headed up North to the Rio Claro.\u00c2\u00a0 Featuring the Siete Tazas, Veinte Dos Saltos, and Entres Saltos Sections, the Rio Claro boasts clean waterfalls and incredible gorges.\u00c2\u00a0 In places the river narrows up to barely wider than a kayak.\u00c2\u00a0 It&#8217;s deep, dark, and incredible.<\/p>\n<p>Here we are at the put-in to the Veinte Dos Section with our British buddies we met at the campground.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF30811\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF30811.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6430 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF30811.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF30811\" width=\"540\" height=\"405\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Paula Pridham running the clean 20 some footer!<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"DSCF3088\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3088.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6431 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3088.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3088\" width=\"280\" height=\"209\" \/><\/a><a title=\"DSCF3101\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3101.JPG\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-6432 \" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/11\/DSCF3101.JPG\" alt=\"DSCF3101\" width=\"259\" height=\"346\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Scouting the stout Salta Leona.
