{"id":52,"date":"2006-09-01T20:51:13","date_gmt":"2006-09-01T19:51:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/?p=52"},"modified":"2006-09-01T20:51:13","modified_gmt":"2006-09-01T19:51:13","slug":"road-trippin-european-style","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/road-trippin-european-style\/","title":{"rendered":"Road trippin&#8217; European Style"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Some people reckon that the West coast\u00c2\u00a0of North America\u00c2\u00a0is the best kayaking road trip you can do, but for me the best bang for your buck is the European tour- starting in Corsica, working up through Slovenia, Italy and France to the\u00c2\u00a0mecca of Norway.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/juri.jpg\" align=\"top\" \/><\/p>\n<p>My\u00c2\u00a0season began in Corsica in April, through to Slovenia and France in May and June\u00c2\u00a0before arriving in Norway in July.\u00c2\u00a0Happy days!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/boat_and_view.JPG\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Norway is definately one of the most incredible countries on earth, awesome whitewater in a wilderness environment. This year we didn&#8217;t make it up to the Arctic circle, but we saw some beautiful places all the same.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/mess.jpg\" \/><!--more--><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/rosierauma-2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This year was a pretty low water year in Norway which translates roughly as still more than enough water.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/slide-2.jpg\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0Despite this fact\u00c2\u00a0everytime I arrive in\u00c2\u00a0Voss it starts to rain. This is not a good thing. Two years in a row I&#8217;ve terrorised myself with monster water levels. This\u00c2\u00a0year it was a highest ever run down the Brandseth\u00c2\u00a0with the Warriors.\u00c2\u00a0After a few days\u00c2\u00a0we couldn&#8217;t take it any more and left to sit in the sun\u00c2\u00a0over in the Sjoa Valley for the Sjoafest! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"154\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/slalom-2.jpg\" width=\"196\" align=\"absBottom\" \/>\u00c2\u00a0<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"150\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/rosieandy-2.jpg\" width=\"245\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" height=\"149\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2006\/09\/andyal.jpg\" width=\"176\" \/><\/p>\n<p>We paddled dozens of new rivers, covered 7000 miles in the van on the round trip from Ireland, and were fit and ready for our mission to India.
