{"id":3953,"date":"2009-07-26T11:02:54","date_gmt":"2009-07-26T10:02:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/?p=3953"},"modified":"2009-07-26T11:02:54","modified_gmt":"2009-07-26T10:02:54","slug":"more-euro-tripping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/more-euro-tripping\/","title":{"rendered":"More Euro tripping&#8230;"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"center;\">\n<p style=\"center;\"><a title=\"Bex Soca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/soca.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-3954 centered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/soca.jpg\" alt=\"Bex Soca\" width=\"358\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\">Bex leading the way on the Soca<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been a few weeks since Bex and I packed up the van and left the rivers of the French Alps, and it&#8217;s been a busy few weeks. \u00c2\u00a0Starting with a week of work and play in Slovenia, we met up with Chris and Tom at the Soca and had a fantastic time coaching during the days with a \u00c2\u00a0great group and getting a few cheeky runs in on the Trnovo to Kobarid section in the evening. \u00c2\u00a0<!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\"><a title=\"Soca Slalom course\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/soca2.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-3955 centered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/soca2.jpg\" alt=\"Soca Slalom course\" width=\"375\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\">Playtime on the Soca (photo: Chris Eastabrook)<\/p>\n<p>Contary to popular belief, there is more than one river in Slovenia. \u00c2\u00a0Bex and I headed across to the beautiful tonw of Bled and had a fun run down the Sava Bohjinca with a local raft guide. \u00c2\u00a0Both the town and the river are well worth checking out if you are in the area.<\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\"><a title=\"Sava Bohjinca\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sava-bohjinca.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-3956 centered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/sava-bohjinca.jpg\" alt=\"Sava Bohjinca\" width=\"500\" height=\"352\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\">Fun times on the Sava Bohjinca (photo:Bex Pipe)<\/p>\n<p>Next up was Austria ; we started with a few days in and around Lienz, there is no shortage of paddling around here, not to mention the climbing, mountain biking, and trekking. \u00c2\u00a0The rivers offered a nice mix of low volume continuous runs, especially the stunning Shwarzach, and bigger volume play runs such as the Drau and Isel. \u00c2\u00a0The Z:one worked a treat on the bigger volume rivers, even managing a few ends in the playhole in town.<\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\"><a title=\"one cartwheel\" href=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/drau-cartwheel.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"attachment wp-att-3957 centered\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pyranha.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/07\/drau-cartwheel.jpg\" alt=\"one cartwheel\" width=\"380\" height=\"540\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"center;\">Playboating the way it used to be done&#8230;
