Location: On my way to Caucasus Mountains, Russia
BIO:I am 29 years old kayaker from Latvia. I'm member of Sickline kayak team and most of my time I spend kayaking in different places on Earth. My focus is expedition kayaking. As a kayaker I grew up on remote rivers of Siberia and this is a place where I do go every season. For me kayaking is not simply travelling by boat, it's much deeper and more meaningful than that.
I like to see the world, visit places unreachable to most people outside kayaking. I like meeting different people in distant places of the Earth. And, of course, now I have many friends with whom I share my passion. The more I travel, the better I understand myself. I'm happy to have the opportunity to travel, paddle around and live my dreams!
Current Missions: "Ride the Planet" project. The essence of the project is creating a series of short video stories about whitewater kayaking and travelling in spectacular and authentic locations. There will be 4 different trips to remote regions of the planet, untouched by tourism industry, ethnically appealing and little known to wide audience.
The aim of project is to show, through the eyes of kayakers, cameramen and photographers, the different mountain regions of planet, convey their beauty and possibilities for travelling and action sports.
Boats: I use Pyranha Burn L and Pyranha Shiva M. Burn is probably the best boat if you want to paddle the big volume rivers. Burn perfectly cuts the line through the messy and turbulent water. And in my opinion Shiva is the right weapon for hardcore creeking.
