Red Bull Dolomitenmann

Last weekend the 20th Red Bull Dolomitenmann was held in Lienz/Austria.

Jakobus Stenglein, Arnd Schaeftlein and myself combined the trip to Lienz with a quick stop at the Kelchsauer Ache – a one and a half hour class 4 river run (incredibly cold).

The Dolomitenmann itsself was awesome. 120 teams, all of them including a mountain runner, a paraglider, a kayaker and a mountainbiker. Unfortunately, the paragliding had to be cancelled this time, as the wind conditions were just not predictable.

I was able to reach the forth place in the individuel amateur class. The 30 minutes run (running with the kayak, 7 m jump of a bridge, paddling downstream, passing gates, paddling upstream several times, running with the kayak…) was extremely exhausting, you could only recover from it thanks to the masses of red bull, that were handed out basically everywhere.
